Thread size Harley Gas Cap

Hey all,

I like want to make a gas cap for my Sportster on my lathe, but I don't know the thread size from the HD gas cap.
Did any one know the exact thread size from the gas cap?

...............1-13/16''..... dunno what pitch or TPI or year range,..... ,.... ya might have to measure one...1982 - 1995 were one size & 1996 up is another size so Know what you are using,....

It should fit to a 1982 - 1995 gas cap bung.
