Dumb question here...

Seems norcal is primarily a sporty mod. Why?
Back in the Day the Ironhead Sportster being Unit Construction was easy to build around, the Sportster was still the King of the Drag Strip (before the Jap Invasion) and I believe that Hot Rod aspect had alot to do with it, This is coming from an Ironhead Junkie that still loves the look of a clean Sportster, the North Cal guys seem to have had it over as far as simply clean lines, attention to details and the Chop magazines back then really zeroed in on the Bay Area Builders...

I dig the style.

I admit I was scared of bikes when I was young. Saw a couple horrific deaths and some people I knew were among them. I never paid attention to bikes and have always been a car guy. I missed the older mags and am not well versed in the trends.

Over my fears and build what I like, but love history.

Great thread.

Ok Loser, I'm Gonna up Ya One as this is the last 'or later version' of that same bike by Garland Sharp, (bike above ^^^) he took that same Century Springer and added it to the Hardhead frame, this clearly shows the early NorCal Style and the latter as the bikes got lower and longer.. I have had this Picture since way back when, one of my favorite pics as it shows a digger in action, on the Street...

This Digger is one of my Favorite Century Bikes, I believe Built by
Ron Nunes just after Century Enterprizes closed its doors, I Love the stance of this Sportster, Century Style Single Loop Frame but lower to the Ground than some of the earlier versions...
