Recently lurkingclass and I were allowed to dig through a local MC's gold mine stash of cycle parts and we found a old school p-pad from the 70's. I was currently running a solo seat only on my chop but this little gold tuck and roll seat inspired me to make a passenger section. So I welded up a piece of cold rolled round stock incorperating it into my old fender struts and there you have it. I was just curious to see your applications and what your sissy bar is being used for. Also if you are using it to ride passengers how much bracing do you have to keep your sissy safe and off the back tire.

I use my sissy bar for a lot of different things. We get a lot of days here where you need a jacket in the morning and then you will roast on the way home from work. I roll up my jacket and put it on my sissybar. It also holds my toolbox. My wife likes it as long as there is a rolled up jacket bungied to it before she leans back on it. It also holds my rear fender off the back tire. I use a 5 point attachment setup. Four points attach to the frame, one to the fender. It's really two sissy bars that are connected midway up the taller one. This helps a lot with cutting down on the vibration you get with taller sissy bars.

Being used as a jacket holder...

Here you can see how it is two seperate sissy bars that are tied together midway up the taller one. Toolbox attaches to the back side of the shorter sissy bar.

For gear, sleeping bag, bed roll, something to steady the bike with when I'm working on it, and something for another rider to hold onto when I run out of gas..

Mines is for form AND function, I am able to load up the mother fucker pretty decent, and it is passenger worthy(not at the same time)....I try not to load it too heavily though, because I ripped the mounts almost clean off on the way to the bash!!! Probably my fault though, I think there is a bit of tension when its mounted. I may build somefender struts for town, and use the sissy bar for trips....maybe.

Isn't that little lady seat on the back there the wrong way round!? Kinda looks like it should go the other way, anatomically speaking, wider at the back for the ass...? Or is it that way to act like a wedge and stop her sliding down too close to you. Either way looks cool! :)

found this thread when I was searching, but still can't find what I need.
anybod out there running a "solo" sissy bar? not concerned so much about a passenger, but I wanted to mount a bar with a fender(similar to a Crazy Frank Fender) setup that is right behind my solo sprung seat. anyone else attempt this or have pics of something close to it? pics are my set up plus the sissy bar and fender mock up on my work bench. I am cutting down the fender so it is WAY shorter. any input is appreciated.
thanks!
