I have a book on early road racing in Europe during the '50's, that helmet looks like 90% of the people racing in those photos.

this vid is from 1969, it has some smokin 2 strokes like the T500 I'm building it and shows some serious vintage doos, clothes, and helmets.
guys going at break neck speed on tires as wide as bicycle tires and half helmets and goggles. = cool stuff

Yeah, if you fall out of bed with it on. You're better off with a bare nugget...that'll do a good job of deflecting bumble bees.

Once you clean them up & get all the hair and gray chunks out of them they really are cool.

No padding in the one I posted, just a web to keep it off your skull. That's probably why they were called pudding basins, because that's what your cranium would be after a wreck.
