Americans could assemble modern bikes like this, but we don't.

What's the point of putting a Sporty in a stock BT chassis? That's like splitting a Sporty just to put a BT 6sp tranny behind it. Why? If you like Sportsters, cool. There's nothing wrong with that. But why attempt to make it more like a Big Twin? If you like them so much, buy/build one. Being different's one thing; being different and dumb is dumb.

You missed it...totally. What do those bikes all have in common? They're all built w/ MODERN parts. The Panhead is nice, but you're comparing apples and oranges.

The point here is that Americans could build neat stuff from modern stock, but instead choose to order thousands of dollars worth of doo-dads from the Harley accessory catalogue.

R.F., I must respectfully disagree. I find that bike interesting.

I guess I'm blind, but what Sporty in a big twin chassis?
I think some of them are pretty freaking cool.

Ahhhh....I see. And kind of agree.

This was my version of what I think your talking about. Mostly just stock evo sporys parts rearanged and reworked.

I guess I have missed the enitre point. I like all of them, they belong to someone that likes the way they look. At least they don't have Iron Crosses all over them. And that isn't a slam on J. James he makes money off that shit. I am an american that loves the capitalist systems that America is. If I had an idea that everyone wanted a part of a claim to I would push it until I didn't have to work anymore. I am rambling... sorry, I like things with 2 wheels and 4. Hell if you can put gas in it and you get some enjoyment out of it screw everyone else. With the exception of those damned Goldwing turds j/k whatever turns your crank.
Here at o.c.c. we give them all a Big THUMBS UP!

Tony,
I've got to disagree that everyone uses a Harley accessory catalog to personalize their bikes with. A lot of folks still strip them down (I don't want to use the B word) and then just put them back together with what's needed to make them functional. If you can make them look better while your doing it--even better.

You'll have to look pretty hard to find the words Harley Davidson or logos on the FXR and the shovelhead used to be a purple dresser with lavender bags on it. Not everyone thinks more is better.

Off to work.

Tony,

Forgive me for replying to this. I'm bored at work and frustrated at some stupid solid model, so I'm taking an internet break. Sue me.

First, I'd like to say that some of you guys take the internet and yourselves way too seriously. C'mon, it's just the internet and who cares if BigSnoDawg43 from Bumblefuck, MI thinks you're a sissy and/or has more 'cred' than you. Really, it's silly.

Second, Tony those bikes are all ugly. Every single one of them. They look like motorcycles that have randomly had parts removed and replaced with ones that don't fit properly. Look at Nimrod's bike and notice how it flows gracefully and all the parts look like they're supposed to be there.

Third, "Flyrite Choppers".

Fourth, I have no 'cred'. I don't even own a motorcycle. So sue me.

Nimrods bike is nice, but sometimes lack of flow is neat, particularly on new bikes that are intended to flow from the factory.

Third, "Flyrite Choppers". Custom bikes vs. factory bikes.

Fourth, I have no 'cred'. I don't even own a motorcycle. So sue me. I have an intentionally diminishing supply of online "cred." The time involved is getting in the way of my daydreaming, bathroom breaks, and trips to the corporate cafeteria for brownies w/ frosting.
Haha,
