You missed it...totally. What do those bikes all have in common? They're all built w/ MODERN parts. The Panhead is nice, but you're comparing apples and oranges.caffeine said:id take this bike over any of those up there any day...id take this bike ove rany TWO of those bikes up there any day
I guess I'm blind, but what Sporty in a big twin chassis?R.F. said:What's the point of putting a Sporty in a stock BT chassis? That's like splitting a Sporty just to put a BT 6sp tranny behind it. Why? If you like Sportsters, cool. There's nothing wrong with that. But why attempt to make it more like a Big Twin? If you like them so much, buy/build one. Being different's one thing; being different and dumb is dumb.
Ahhhh....I see. And kind of agree.Tony Bones said:You missed it...totally. What do those bikes all have in common? They're all built w/ MODERN parts. The Panhead is nice, but you're comparing apples and oranges.
The point here is that Americans could build neat stuff from modern stock, but instead choose to order thousands of dollars worth of doo-dads from the Harley accessory catalogue.
R.F., I must respectfully disagree. I find that bike interesting.

Forgive me for replying to this. I'm bored at work and frustrated at some stupid solid model, so I'm taking an internet break. Sue me. You're forgiven.
First, I'd like to say that some of you guys take the internet and yourselves way too seriously. C'mon, it's just the internet and who cares if BigSnoDawg43 from Bumblefuck, MI thinks you're a sissy and/or has more 'cred' than you. Really, it's silly. Yes.
Second, Tony those bikes are all ugly. Every single one of them. They look like motorcycles that have randomly had parts removed and replaced with ones that don't fit properly. Look at Nimrod's bike and notice how it flows gracefully and all the parts look like they're supposed to be there. Nimrods bike is nice, but sometimes lack of flow is neat, particularly on new bikes that are intended to flow from the factory.
Third, "Flyrite Choppers". Custom bikes vs. factory bikes.
Fourth, I have no 'cred'. I don't even own a motorcycle. So sue me. I have an intentionally diminishing supply of online "cred." The time involved is getting in the way of my daydreaming, bathroom breaks, and trips to the corporate cafeteria for brownies w/ frosting.
Haha,
Ed
