Hey guys- I just picked up an old 16" star hub wheel and it's got a chrome trim ring on each side that just snaps in around the base of the drop center portion of a standard 16" HD wheel. They're not the traditional wheel covers that you see from time to time that cover the entire wheel. These are only about 1 inch wide, but really stand out against the black paint on the rim. I haven't got any pictures and won't have any until tomorrow night, but I was wondering if any of you might know what they are or who made them. They look really nice and I know that the wheel is ancient, but I've never seen them before and wasn't sure if they're an old accessory or if they're something a lot newer than the wheel. Maybe this is useless without pictures, but figured it was worth a shot. Thanks!

Danny F was selling a wheel with those included a while back. I'm guessing a 50s accessory type part?
Those were 15" car rim beauty rings Ragbak.. they also have them in 16".. check with Mooneyes.. they come in different rib designs yes..
When using car rim rings you will have the valve stem cutouts on both sides of your wheel of course...

(Not 100% sure but I do believe though that H-D had them back ik the early days as an option..)

i pulled one off a early side car basket a while back. they might be factory just for that application.
I guess I wasn't clear enough. Harley -Davidson NEVER made snap on trim rings. The only type they EVER sold were two piece held on with 4 screws and spacers that were made for 19" wheels as part #11265-36 and 18" wheels as part #11266-36. After the 16" wheels became standard they dropped them. They last appear in the '41 accessory catalog and are gone by the '45 accessories price list. All other wheel covers and related items were aftermarket, not H-D.
The most common type are the Ford ones as they snap onto drop center 16s.
