yep thats how they catch them when they dont make it to the top still do it to this day i think
Excellent pic's do you think that is a hook on the right of this photo
you can see it's shadow
maybe if the opportunity arises to hook the bike instead of
crashing to the bottom of the hill again

check out that knuck, itd be close to brand new and who would want to go on that angle with a full tank?
carb must be fed from the back of tank.
some ford model T had to go up hills backwards if they had the fuel tank under the seat...gravity fed.

How long are swing arms these days for hill climbs , those guys back then were doin it for real! awesome!
