Can I plug the vent on my oil tank cap. Aftermarket round tank with 3 lines, unsure of maker. Its on a 62 panhead with a shovel topend. The run off is dripping on my battery. I just want to make sure it wont cause me any trouble before I do it.

So you have 3 lines feed return and breather.
Does the breather line on the tank go to atmospere? or is the engine breather connected to it?
If the engine breather is connected you need another vent on the tank or you are
just pressurising the oil tank.

You DON'T need a vent on a panhead oil tank. One feed line, one return line and the vent line that equalizes the pressure in the tank and the engine.
