You didn't even tell us the marque of vintage of machine.
Or the application, such as competition or cruising.
If you are speaking of an H-D up to '84, for normal service, I would advise against any bronze guide.
Bronze has a habit of shrinking, as you described...
It is not a good thing if your timing changes, or you develop a vacuum leak, etc.
But the stuff given to me that was supposedly ideal even for flattys has C90500 on it. Still, it is safest to limit any bronze to intakes only.
