Can the exhaust spigot's on a Bonne' head be swapped from the 1 3/4 size to the 1 5/8?
I have a set of NOS aftermarket drag pipe's i want to run, but the're the smaller size..
Right now i have a TR6R head and the pipe's fit, but my bike's a Bonneville and i want to run the Bonne' head..
So, if the smaller spigot's will fit then i'll get them and use 'em in the Bonne head so i can run my pipes..

Thanks for any info..

Tony.

Hmmm..
thats interesting..
My motor's a '71 TR6R, and was complete when i got it..
I bought it from my uncle, and he took it apart to inspect the jugs/pistons..
The head that came on it had the small spigot's..It even has '71 cast into it..
Time for some more research i guess......

Thanks for the onfo.

1971 was the last year of the 9 bolt head, the first year to use the pinned rockerboxes, the only year to use the little screws in the side of the boxes you can unscrew to stick a feeler in. Last year for the circular rocker inspection covers.

In the transition from 71 to 72 there were a few 'inbetweenies' as Triumph used up its supply of old parts.

The stock pipes had headers that started at 1 3/4" at the clamp, then narrowed down to 1.5" for the rest.
