You're right Maurice, it's not a large gap. But to answer your question, yes, I use those settings.
The only thing I could suggest is to make sure it's good and cold before you do your adjustments and to make sure that the engine and valves are really in the correct positions when you do your checks. If you've used all or mostly new parts in your rebuild, I would expect to find the clearances changing for quite a few miles as things break in.
