I've just spent several hours trying to knock the the spindle/shaft through wit a 3lb hide mallet.
J*sus wept!, there has got to be an easier way,and don't say a 10lb hammer.
Bush's nicely reamed, swing arm boss on frame nicely cleaned with emery on drill, greased up new shaft.
I've done it, but where did I go wrong?

Chill the swing arm spindle in the freezer and just before your ready to drive it home, heat the frame (doesn't have to be blistering hot, just uncomfortable to the touch). Just finished the same job...sure goes in a lot easier that way.

One of those 500 watt halogen worklights does awesomely for heating parts safely. When I heat my aluminum flywheel to put on the racecar I have to wear gloves!;)
