i'm in the middle of putting a top end on one of my bikes but i don't know which o rings to use on the top of the pushrod tubes. i know if you use regular ones, they will burn out...but i can't tell the difference between any of these. i have an EMGO top end gasket kit and it has 6 o rings that will work. 4 are red and two are black. any advice?
thanks

That answer is obvious...you have four pushrod tubes so the red go on them and the black go in the inside...I would also use high temp RVT silicone to put them together but have to assemble quickly...hope that helps...later Chaz

actually there are only two pushrod tubes. and this is a 65 motor so it wasn't equipped with the good tappet guides that take o rings. i hunted around online and i think this motor takes the white rubber seals top and bottom. i'm gonna try that and hope it doesn't leak like a siv.
Actually it is not that simple at all until you know the secret handshake and mojo-mo-fy-er. Experiment around until you can set the "squish" up right. What you want to do is stack up the different thicknesses of o-ring (but only one top and one bottom) until you can juuuuuuust put a 1/16 of an inch drill bit between the head and the copper gasket. Then carefully tighten it down to set the tubes right. I also cheat and use a Yamabond around the bases of the PR Tubes and the tops, just to mke double sure. . .

dig it
does anyone have pics of this, both top and bottom?? i am not sure, but i dont think mine had seals at the top....watched you vid today Wes, pretty sure the top ones were not mentioned either.

thanks
