Triumph Pre Unit cutaway illustration

Hello
Can anyone ID this cutaway drawing and lead me to a hi res or what publication it was printed in? I want to have this printed as a mural, or I may paint it, and I also want a tattoo of it on my arm. This jpg is way too small in resolution to do much with.
Any help appreciated.

looks like a pre 57 T100 engine, but I don't know from where.
Not sure where that line drawing version came from, but that cutaway is part of the advertising bit for the introduction of the 650 Thunderbird in 1950. You can tell that it is a 1950-later 650, or a 1951-later 500 by the large style rods with the rod bolts located in the rod itself, instead of the cap.

Don't know where you can find a high res version, as it would have never been printed very large, but here are some better ones. The first is a straight pull from the 1950 brochure, the second is a quick cleanup to remove the background stuff.

Should be a cool tattoo. Post a pic when you get it done.

any decent tattooer should be able to work with those pics. If I was going to draw it I would want to make my own line drawing anyway.
the pistons look kinda like T100 squish pistons.

Great find!
Do you have this original art? I would love to get a scan at a higher resolution.
Ben,

I think I do still have that 1950 brochure, and could scan that part in at a higher resolution. Don't know that it will get you much though, as that will mostly magnify the flaws in the print itself, not give you much more detail. When I scanned in all of my brochures, I did them so that they will represent the original size. I'll try to get a chance to do that soon. If you don't see a post in a few days, PM me about it.

Shaggy, I don't mind the defects, they may even help if I go a digital direction ith the mural. Tyler, I'll send you an email request, thanks!
Here ya go!

This was scanned at 600dpi. Hope it helps.

Thank you! Here is my tattoo, about 75% done. There is still shading to do on the gears, a valve spring, pushrods, crank nose, etc. Jamie at Suffer City is doing the art.
