What is the best way to remove the outer race on a Triumph 750. I have heard of welding a metal bar across the race and hammering it out from the back side...is there another or better way to get it out?

Heat the whole case up. It will eventually fall out.

yeah, heat around the race and whack the hole case onto a wooden bench. should drop out.

Then run in the house and pull the new race outta the freezer and drop it in.

Laying case half on a hot-plate worked great for heating it up when I did mine.

The best way is to use the Triumph factory tool 61-7017. It's kind of pricey but super easy to use and does no damage to the cases. See if any shops near you have one.
