I have a 66 triumph 500cc with the rear axle mounted speedo drive. Put on a hardtail. If anyone has done something similar, did you leave the speedo drive on the axle? I took off the speedometer, as it didn't work anyway. Did you take the drive off too? If so, did you machine any spacers to keep the axle from shifting and lining up with the chain? Just want to make sure I am not missing anything.

I did the same with my bsa, its easier than machining a spacer. it looks fine with it on there-Brian
