I have a 1973 TR7 that I've been working on and I need a new tank. Before I buy this one I need help. Will it fit an OIF and how would I mount and secure this tank to the frame?

yes, that will fit. It is attached with a thru bolt and the tank sits on two rubber horseshoes
Pantera,I'd pass on that one,as it is an early OIF tank and lacks the tapped holes in the front bottom for the strap to hold the front from flexing and cracking the welds on the top front of the tank. If it isn't already cracked,I have welded nuts to the bottom front to mount a strap, but it is a pita. If you can find a later tank, that is the better way to go. Jack
Hey guys, thanks for the info and advice. Jack do you know where I'd be able to find a later model tank? Is the tank with the rib wider than the one without?
Pantera, yes, they came out with the OIF "slim line" tank in late 72.It is 2 1/2 gal.,no rib,and the anti-flex strap. They are on e-bay quite often. Jack
Hay, heads up there is an Europen tank that has a larger capacity for fuel, I have seen two next to each other. The American version is narrower, I am not a Brit expert just picked the info up from a bro. Good luck.
Thanks for all the help fellas
