can anyone help with identification of year and size etc from the engine numbers i have been given 2 triumph engines both with seized pistons the first one looks not to bad but needs a little work the second im not into it yet i need to know info, so i can order correct gasket set etc any help will be great the pic shows the number


any help will be appreciated

Don't get hung up on the build date. It is a '72 for all intents and purposes. It is a 650 and a four speed ( assuming no one changed it to a five speed sometime since ) but probably not. ;)

ok so 1971 im thinking its a 750cc? or will it be 650?

The picture that is up of the triumph numbers shows triumph embossed in the background,are they all like this? Are some blank?

In 68 does the engine number and frame number match?
Triumph frame and motor numbers always match, unless one or the other has been replaced.
