I'm building my 1967 T120 motor right now and have run into a snag. My motor has the oil port that is meant to deliver oil through the cylinder jugs to the tappets but my jugs don't have this.
A few threads that I read said that it was ok to just block off the oil passage (just like people do for Morgo big bore kits). Unfortunately, the one detail I missed was that this is only ok when using later style nitrided cams and tappets.
So...what do I do now. Do I need to pull my motor apart again and buy new nitrided cams and tappets? OR has anyone successfully eliminated the oil passage in the block while still older style cams and tappets that are not nitrided?
I will go to the shop later and check the exact cam that I have but I am pretty certain they are not nitrided. I just needed to post this because it is keeping me up at night!
I will post some pictures this afternoon
Thanks
Frank
