I really like the idea of the Tri-Spark ignition being self contained with no separate ignition box to find a home for. That in itself would be worth the additional cost. Can they be run batteryless? I did a search and the only thing I came up with is Tony the Torch said they will give up the ghost if you run batteryless at high RPM. How high RPM? Anyone run one successfully?

the one that failed at high rpm was on a Trident running at about 8k RPM at Laguna Seca R/R. I did one on a dirt bike T100C and it works fine, a lot will depend on how stable your charging system is at high RPM, a battery is just a real good voltage filter.
