Is the rear tire in a dry frame off center 3/8" +/- to the right? I lined up my chain line and this is how it ended up.........

It looks wrong because rib on my rear fender does not line up with the rib on the tank. I tried to angle the seat alittle but it didn't work.

Buy yourself a twenty dollar lazer level. Makes it easy to check the sprockets, and tail section alignment. That looks like a pretty fat rear tire. How much clearance do you have between the tire sidewall and the chain?
I do have the level (great tool). the front and rear sprockets are lined up. I am using a stock triumph rear wheel. I just think that it's weird the tire ends up off set from the backbone centerline.

The side of the tire is 5/8" off the centerline of the rear sprocket. (130/90-18 dunlop dirt track tire)

Hmmmm....puzzling....it should line up, but not being there to check it out makes it difficult. Has the wheel been relaced?....maybe it is laced off center?

good point!....I never thought about the wheel being laced off center.

Is the rim centered on the hub on a stock wheel?

Thanks

Not trying to hi-jack your post, but I've got the same problem. I was going to post the same question in a couple of days. My hardtail is nice and square with the rest of the frame, the sprockets are lined up, and the rear wheel is about 1/2 to the right. Right now I'm running a bsa quick detach 16", but I had the same thing with the 19" quick detach wheel.wtf?

What is the measurement between the axle plates? It should be the same as a swingarm dimension. I see you have a big spacer on the left side of the axle..A stock bike has no spacer, just a nut. So I am wondering about the tail section being a possible culprit.

kind of hard to tell in the pic but looking at the relation of the sprocket to tire it looks like the rim is relaced of center.
I am starting to think that.

The wheels I am using are being laced now, I am going to have them set up so the tire ends up in line with the backbone. Or at least as close to the chain as possible if not center.

I'm glad to see I' m not the only one with this issue. Iv'e been told by several people that it will handle like shit if the tires aren't lined up perfectly. Scootermcrad does your bike handle allright?

Mine is also off-center. I did this on purpose though. My tire was going to hit the chain if I didn't. I think it's a 140 or something. Avon Wide White Wall. The most important thing is that the chain lines up with the sprocket, so at least you have that goin' on. Bike's lookin' good by the way!
