I placed an ad in the austin craig's list for an older Triumph and got my first reply. I'm waiting on pics and here is what he said:

"I've got a TR6 650 twin, I belive 67' model, It's torn down, the top ends off, needs total rebuild on the motor, I got it with out the top end, but should have a set of jugs, & a head with rocker box covers, The engine #'s match the Frame #'s. Other than that everyone say's you want what for it? But it's really mostly there, just been sitting out for a while. & I've been saying $800.00 as-is. Oh did I say most folks think it's rough. If ur interrested I can send photo's of the bike. I think with some time & skill, & of course Money$$$$, It could come together, Oh I don't have a tank for the dry frame, Let me know."

I'm assuming at this point i could get it for $500.

Thanks for the help guys! This board has been a great help to me. I asked for a little clarification on his cryptic email and this is what i got. Also, he has no title...

"I got it without a top end, But I should have some part's, a jug & head & rockerbox cover's. I can order in just about everything needed to go thur this bike, Ok, I've got a little shop here in Belton, And have been in the M/C, Buss. for over thrity-five year's, I've just slowed down in the last few years, for health reason's. But some of the cosmitces r an e-bay thing. Some of the part's on this bike were chromed at one time, And stock the weren't chrome, so it's a matter of taking the chrome off to get it back as stock, And yes They need to be refinished. Ok. I'll send the photo's this evening"
