I would say fine. OEM is fine, at least for tranny plate and rear motor mount.

Sounds good. That's what I was thinking but thought I'd ask. Nylocks or just a bit of blue locktite?

Studs should be fine, rear plate mount holes should be fine, 5th mount to the tranny (non stud mount) should take a course bolt, then I run fine bolts for front plate mount. I run nylocks on the studs and bolts that take them.

Yes I want to get it as low as a can. I might end up sending the forks out to be shortened but might try cutting the springs to see how low I can go with that. It's not going to have much travel either way so I'm not sure.

My tank had a flat bottom and tunnel put in it by one of the prior "builders" but was really poorly done so I decided to cut it out and narrow it 1" to start. I might go more its just tacked up for now

bolted on a new air cleaner too. A local guy builds them with a blank rear plate so you can drill and mount them for any carb.

Making progress with the bike finally after the holidays. I will post pics tonight.I had to build new rear axle Adjusters/spacers to make my axle length work. I used aluminum instead of steel but made the OD a but bigger so there is a bit more material where the 3/8" slots are for the adjustment bolts. Should I have used steel?

I was using one of those floor jack style bike lifts until I came into the garage to find that my bike had fell off. Luckily nothing was damaged but I thought better safe than sorry so I bought a new lift today

Thanks! I'm going to do the frame in gloss black powder and the tins will be painted orange with heavy flake. The fender is from Front Street Cycle along with the bars and oil tank

I'm trying to find a kick stand that will work with how low the bike is. My frame has forward mounts so I was hoping to mount a stand off one of them

Some more parts showed up Friday from Bung King. Motor mount,vented gas cap,and 3/8" chromoly heim ends. Great guys to deal with and their builder parts are top notch in my opinion. Time to get something done this weekend

I still havn't found anything that I would use. Just a couple billet alum stands that I would look like shit on there. Any ideas?

Can't make out too much detail from the pic I looked at, but it may be helpful to mock up the left side peg & controls, then see if a simple L-shaped kickstand could be bent up and installed; your bike is low enough that a foot that pivots out on the same plane as the bottom frame rail should work.

I tried the stock stand and it's way too long and I think if I shorten it and give it a bend it's going to hit the primary in the up position. I'll mess around with it tonight. I found a nice stand from Lock Baker that's made out to look like a leaf spring but its $350 and that's too rich for this guy
