I've got a 1988 evo sportster and just bought some biltwell low drag riserless bars. As they're built to fit Harley yokes I thought my existing riser bolts would fit. It seems that they don't.

They almost fit and I know that the powdercoat on the bars can alter the size of the threads. My question is does anyone know the size of standard sportster riser bolts as the Biltwell threads are 1/2 x 13.

Being in the UK, I'm having problems finding 1/2 x 13 bolts as we're all metric over here. Any suggestions ?

A thread gauge would answer your question the quickest. Unless someone chimes in with the answer in the short term, you could also email Biltwell.

I find it hard to believe the inner threads would be powder coated, but if they are you'll need to chase the threads with a tap before you could install the proper fastener.

Are your current bolts 1/2" x 20?
