A friend is looking to run a spool w/ a 45 springer. Does anyone make rockers for this application, or know of a trick?

Rockers have different size holes, 74 springers were drilled larger than 45's. If the springer is a 45 they have the 5/8 in diameter hole that is perfect for a spool wheel, if it's a 74 springer then you need to make a stepped (sp) axle..

In the old days, they would drill out the 45 rockers to the required size (5/8").
Also seen 74 rockers used, but it doesn't look as good due to the different shape of the rockers. I prefer to use the Paughco rockers. Nice new bushings and the right size for the axle.

I have a 45 repop which had small hole rockers... I drilled 'em to 5/8.. I'm able to run a minibrake wheel or spool now. Works great!

i just drilled the rockers and made a axle,,no problems

stock 45's had 3/8" axles i think. just drill them out to 5/8 or 3/4 to fit the spool axle, or just buy paugho rockers. they also sell axle spacers, but anyone with a lathe can make them without a problem.
