...on this welded-on hardtailed unit triumph frame
(right where it would bolt-on at the top)

And this has my un-educated mind worried ---

It's the first bike I've ridden on the street
(although brother had the dirtbike, not me,)
I haven't had it going that fast,
and the thought of the frame collapsing at speed has me shaking with fear-

You can see through the cracked paint it was metalflake blue
one or two paint jobs ago
(fork lowers match),
and that's got me wondering exactly how many miles have been beaten into it over the years?

Basically,
I'm scared to the point of wondering if I'm just a pussy,

or...?
How do I tell if I'm fucked?

Thanks!

How many layers of paint on that thing?.Paint will crack if it is real thick-especially if there's metalflake thats been on for a while. So that MIGHT be one answer.
Me personally ,I am into paint and filler removal to have a look, both times I did it on modified bikes that id bought,I found bad welding.
Someone may have another idea on how to check,be handy if you could post a pic too.
Cheers

This is my 71 Trump frame. Lots of Bondo when I picked it up. It scared me. I blasted it and found this cobbled together shit. Glad I did it, otherwise I would likely be hurt or dead. Obviously I made it right and now feel 100% comfortable riding it. Better Safe than Sorry!
