Same as BT, just be sure you use early ones for tins and late ones for nacelle. If you aren't running that stuff either will work.

Great thanks
Big twin cups will not work on 45 or servi .They are 7/8 in stem Big twin is 1 in.They make a kit to run 7/8 stem on a big twin. But to go the other way 1 in to 7/8 in .You can turn down the male end of a Big twin cup to fit 45 servi frame and run the BT cups.
to run a wide glide 1" neck stem you will have to machine down a set of cups

just be careful when you do them because the material on the cups becomes really really thin

I had a friend of mine do this and he took a little too much out of the cups, one time when he got off the bike and just put the kick stand down the bottom cup cracked on him
very lucky it didnt happen while he was riding

the better option if you want to run a wide glide is to run a set of custom trees with a 7/8" stem this way you have plenty of material on the neck cups
Turn them just enuff to fit in neck tight.

Big twin cups fit any post '57 Servi frame that originally came with a wideglide as the head casting is different than earlier ones. All '58 and later Servi-Cars used 1" stems. All Pre'58 Servi-Car and '52 and earlier 45 are 7/8ths with Springers. My mistake was assuming he had a frame for a wideglide Servi, which I do not know to be true. Your mistake is claiming all are 7/8ths!

1960 frame :) the hole they fit in is about 1 1/8 ,,maybe slightly bigger

The 1" stem fit through, without the cups
Also remember Bt neck is 5 1/2 in and the servi and 45 are 5 in neck length.

iiggii,
The '58 and later Servi-Car neck casting is the same length as a BT frame and the stem on a servi-Car fixed rake glide is the same as BT. Stem length is not an issue on'58 and later Servi-Cars with wide glides.
And I also have been sort of paying attention to Scavenger's questions so pretty much had a head start on answering his initial question!:D

Bummer for you. I never am sorry for anything, even if I'm wrong. It just means I learned something. No reason to be sorry for that! But some folks just choose to be martyrs!!

one more question the ..would a stock Sporty also bolt right in ?
No! But a stock Superglide will!

Measured 2 trike frames they have a 5" neck

You claimed you had a '60 frame. That would use BigTwin cups. Perhaps your frame is not what you think it is? Do you even know what you have?? I can't help it if you don't have a clue. And don't expect any more help from me!
Robbie
from the '61 Servi-Car parts book
See less See more
I was told it was a 1960 and that is the motor that cam out of it. and it has Hyd brakes.

and the I don't have a clue ?? yeah ok,,cool by me

The How to Restore HD ,,mentions several different Servi-car frames,,but don't remember it saying anything abut neck changes

** for the record,,you may be correct, but tried them on another neck off another trike juice frame and would not fit,,,maybe I have modified frames**

and Rubone thanks for your imput
