Could you just clean the shit off the caliper you have and rebuild it?

The bracket is the cheapest part of the whole set up. If you want to go to a different caliper, maybe find a complete bracket/caliper set up rather than adapting a different caliper to the bracket you have?

im just wondering if anyone has used a different caliper on said bracket. i already have a stocker sporty bracket and caliper that i can use otherwise.

ditch it all and get a 2000-up stock HD caliper that is cast with the bracket. they are cheap and easy to make work.

"Cheap" and "easy" are relative terms. How about a quick rundown on what would be involved.

i would buy the late model caliper, weld a tab so the caliper can float.. Its pretty easy setup
