Been doing some research, before I buy a set of neck cups-and not totally sure I'm understanding the issue...
Frame is a Flyrite Chopper, with 40 degree raked neck.
Front end is an FXWG,which I believe has 3 degrees of rake.
I know I'll need longer fork tubes.
Say I used a stock set of neck cups.
My frame neck has 40 degrees of rake.
Installed, this FXWG front end would then have 43 degrees of rake-correct?
If I used a set of 3 degree raked neck cups-
Installed, this FXWG front end would have 40 degrees of rake,as the rake of the trees and cups would cancel each other out-correct?
Additionally, with the stock neck cups, the forks WILL NOT be parallel to the frame neck-they will kick out 3 degrees more.
With raked neck cups, they will cancel out the rake of the factory trees-the pivot bolt in the neck will be the thing that is angled, while the forks WILL be parallel to the frame neck.
Do I have this right or am I all discombobulated?
