Took my whole BSA A10 gearbox apart to replace the kicker gear and new gaskets and I don't know how I missed this. You can see the wear on the shaft and the keyway, I did buy a new keyway for it and was told to tig weld in place but not sure if that is a good thing. Would you use the shaft as is? will it give me trouble later? Also going to be installing a new belt drive instead of the old 6 spring clutch. Thanks
Its ok to reuse, I've made oversize keys in the past...just make sure you tighten the clutch hub nut enough to prevent it from slipping on the taper and making the problem worse.
