Took my whole BSA A10 gearbox apart to replace the kicker gear and new gaskets and I don't know how I missed this. You can see the wear on the shaft and the keyway, I did buy a new keyway for it and was told to tig weld in place but not sure if that is a good thing. Would you use the shaft as is? will it give me trouble later? Also going to be installing a new belt drive instead of the old 6 spring clutch. Thanks

For my money, I'd install the new key with bearing retainer loctite and run it. Welds on shafts are expensive to come back from.
