"Pre '70 Special Construction" Triumph

Hey Guys,

I tried searching previous threads but didn't come up with what I was looking for...

I found a Triumph that peaked my interest but before I get into something I'm not ready for I have a question. The ad says that the bike is a 650 unit and that a search of the VIN comes back as "pre 70 special construction". Just curious what this could possibly mean.

Any help would be appreciated - Thanks!

it means that bike was built with aftermarket or replacement parts, like an aftermarket frame or a non-numbered set of replacement cases.
It's probably has a "blue tagged" frame or engine,
to me it's no big deal, if it's a cool bike then get it. it would only effect the value if it is a restored stock bike.
