Anybody have any pros, cons or advice about powder coating vs painting brake drums ? I've heard that it can trap heat and lead to premature brake wear ??? How about that hi heat drum and caliper paint that the auto stores sell ?

Here's a wheel I built some time ago. That's a Suzuki GT750 four-shoe drum. The hub is powder coated and the the side plates were left bare. Drill lots of holes in the plates if you're worried about heat. No problems here.

Got my hydraulic drumbrake on my Shovel powdercoated some year ago. No problems with that.
