Forget the safety warning, we're all perverted for sick pictures.
Dirk put a disclaimer on the post, you lot opened it and then complained that you didn't need to see the pictures (me included), hypocrites the bunch of you, well some of you.
There is a reason that accidents back up traffic for miles even when there are no lanes blocked,we get off on seeing blood and people squirming on stretchers.

That could've happened to me a hundred times. IT'S PART OF OUR CULTURE. Be as careful as you can because it could still happen to you, but it probably won't.

I say post those every once in a while just to keep us all tuned up. - Thanks Dirk.

Could be like the latest death here this week, poor dude got hit by a Portapotty falling off a truck, then he got ran over by another bike.

Deer don't wear shoes.

I know first hand.

Oh...and for the record I did not and will not click the link.

I get the general idea.....

I hate body stuff....especially parts all out of sorts.

it's never IF, it's WHEN. the only question is how bad it'll be.
I sure most of us have lost a few friends, and sadly the ones I knew stacked the deck thoroughly by getting liquored up, proscribing a helmet, and believing it'd never happen to them. closed casket funerals, all of them.

I had to look just to remember how "lucky" and "dumb" I've been over the years ...

Riding over my head in my sport bike days or blasting thru Sunday traffic with a bunch buddies on the 405 with way too much "Quick Throttle " on my Shovel ... Poor bastard ...

I live on a popular bike canyon just before it gets real curvy, and every weekend there is at-least one ambulance picking up someone ... Seems to trade off ... New Harley panicking in the corners ... then a sport bike running way too fast .... The last one must have been like this photo ... A few of these guys running something like 120, passing a young girl in a lil' car on the end of a straight away before the corners .... She decided to make a U-turn ..... The last guy didn't make the pass ...

I don't care about posts like this... If someone has an accident... Well.. Bad luck. I think you should always look out and be fuckin' carefull when riding. I don't need pics or whatever for that. I've seen enough accidents in real life.

I've also cleaned up and investigated areas where planes have crashed. Yes.... human debris also. Kinda weird but interesting too.
From that I learned that I don't wanna look like a pile of meat.. So I keep my eyes open on the road, and always look and think ahead.

And besides.... I don't do 170 MPH on my Triumph anyways. And I sold my '91 GSXR a long time ago..

I didn't look at the pics I've seen it in real life too much and unfortunately been hauled away in an ambulance one too many times. Having said that I gotta say if your doing 170 your already to stupid to survive till old age. Every time we get on our bikes we know it could be our day. we pay for our passion. but 170 or even 100 plus is asking from more trouble then we already have to face.

Well, I certainly swatted the hornets nest with this post. Didn't mean to, just wanted to remind all to be careful. I, too, have hauled away too many people in an ambulance, and alcohol mixed with stupidity and testosterone was often the cause.

If I offended, I'm sorry, but I don't regret raising this subject because hopefully it will keep OUR safety in the front of everyones mind. I know the pics are an example of the extreme end of motorcyclists and probably not representative of 99.99% of the people on the board, but like I said, we SHARE the road with those types, so we need to keep eyes open. I know we make our choices and take our chances every time we climb on a bike....we just need to make informed decisions and keep our personal safety and the safety of others first and foremost when we ride.

Personally I think I have a really screwed up set of values for riding motorcycles. I don't brag about it, or try to validate it to other people. BUT...The safest motorcycle with the most considerate sane rider aboard, wearing all the safest gear (including the neon orange triangle)...SHOULD be driving a CAR. As a matter of fact, they should walk everywhere they go wearing the above mentioned safety gear.

Bicyclists are insane. They plod along the side of busy streets like fleshy slugs with no way to defend themselves or evade death. They pull their BABIES behind them in little trailers! I never hear anyone tell them they're idiots. It's always "Good for you! One less car!"

I look at that poor guy in pieces on the side of the road and I feel bad for him and his family and whoever else that accident screwed up. He was a human being doing what humans do, and it was his time to go. Depending on the circumstances, like say...if he was straight (no drugs or alcohol) on a deserted two lane out in the middle of nowhere and his speedo said 170, OKAY, especially if he was familiar with that stretch of road.

If he had to do drugs or be drunk to handle it, didn't know the road or it was the wrong road, or flat out couldn't ride well...see ya.

I live in a nieghborhood FULL of kids. The place is teeming with them. They play in the streets and run all over the place havin' a ball. I've also got some lame-ass crankheads in my nieghborhood that ride their bikes or drive their cars like idiots. They scream through here at all hours of the day and night. I've nearly been in fistfights with some of 'em over this, and after 2 years it's a lot better, but I heard a lot of this shit..."It's just how I ride man" or "you ain't no cop"...IDIOTS. I know what a 600 pound H-D will do to a 4 year old kid, especially at 50 m.p.h. Why don't they? I can't stand 'em for making me tell them to slow down (I fucking HATE telling anybody what to do) but mostly I just hate 'em. FOOLS.

This coming from a guy who set his panhead chopper on fire and rode it in traffic. I know I know. (It was 11 at night downtown but still) It's a strange thing figuring out what's safe and what isn't. They try to make laws idiot proof but it just ruins everything. I don't know what the answers are. Folks have been telling me my whole life I'm gonna die, and they're absolutely right.

You know what is weird, my values are rather fucked also. I ride road bicycles and Mtnbikes. I wear one of those foam hairnet looking helmets and descend at 50mph with nothing but a jersey and a pair of shorts between me and the road. But, put me on a motorcycle and I wear a helmet, jeans and a leather jacket?????

Humans are silly.
