If you're worried about the rings being washed out squirt a little oil in through the plug holes and roll the motor over by hand a couple of times before firing it up again.

I obviously have had some fuel down the cylinders so a bit of oil down the hole should help rep seat? What kind of compression is optimum?
Stupid question of the day alert!! How do I hand crank? I can bump it over with electric start but aside from pulling the cam cover off is there a way to crank the motor?

Try removing the sparkplugs, then jack up the rear of the bike, put the transmission in second gear and rotate the rear wheel. You can magically turn the motor forward or even backward should you so desire.

Pick up a S&S E or a B but take a look at the butter fly shaft to see if it got any slop in the shaft and look at the air/fule adjustment needle on top to see if it's been bottomed out. Look for sign's of it being take'n apart a million times if so keep look'n. Should be able to find a B carb in fair to good condieion for a C note or less E for a little more cash. The E would be the better choice of the two and try to get the manifold with it. Manifold ( $20-$25 ) Marked X158 from S&S will fit both E & B . Good Luck and Happy Hunting
