long story short i got a bike with a title but didnt realize the previous owner (a used car shop in NYC) never signed the title as a seller. they did sign it as a buyer when they got it from HD auction but never as a seller to the guy that i got it from (he never registered it prob for the same reason i cant).
now the shop in NYC is out of business. i am trying to do this the legal way. i know i can sign names etc, but i dont want to take any chances should anything come up in the future. the effed up part is that the bank i took a loan from for the bike signed off on it so they fdont even have an asset to back the loan as the last legal name on the title is the now defunct shop in NYC. they cant repo it if i default as the legal owner of the bike according to the title is the NYC shop. what a cluster.
any help is appreciated. the bike is a 2002 so its even tougher to reg than an old one. else i just keep it for 5 more years till it doesnt need a title. ugh.
