No, thats one of the benefits of tig: the heat affected area is small.
cool design, be sure to post pics of the tank on the bike. however i do believe i would have made the cut and patch one continuous arch and then attached the middle "between the heads" piece as a seperate thing, i.e. where it wouldn't hold/trap any fuel. but that's just me. looks killer man, i love it.

Thats what I was thinking too, its a buddy of mines design (for his bike), I just did the work.

I want to remove the filler from the left side tank and hard line between the two. I will post some pics as the bike comes together.
