never rode one but i've read a few articles. not tons of power but it looks great. they did mention the clip on position was cramped and tall riders may not like the high pegs.
i like the fact there's aftermarket support.

don't like it...any company that steals another bikes name I wouldn't buy it....that is a Velocette scooter name and it was bad ass I may add...now if it were the Velocette company which no longer exists hell yes nice start there..

I'm 6'2" and the stock riding position suits me fine - I've ridden some looong stretches on it. Just get rid of the ugly rear fender, put some bar-end mirrors on there and you're set.

I like mine....sounds like a sewing machine stock. The accessories are way over-priced but most of the stuff you can do your self for free.

um, Thruxton was a airfeild converted to a motorcycle racetrack in england in the 50'sChopper Chaz said:

There used to be an 850 "Thruxton" kit to fit 750 Triumph twins in the early 80's. I forget who was selling them, but I do know the electric starter on the Bonneville couldn't handle the higher compression (and my T160 still kicked its ass)
I did a review of the Thruxton way back in issue #46 (along with the Rocket 3 *wow*).
Around town the riding position was annoying, too much weight on the wrists, and your knees ended up against the cylinder head. They have these little wire stand-offs so you don't burn horizontal lines into your pants.
It has since become our best selling back issue, it must be my review eh?

that is the reason why Triumph took the name is because of that bike made by Velocette in the 50's..if Velo thought of taking it from a airstrip kudo's to them atleast they didn't hijack it from another bike..be like Harley naming a fat boy a Vincent Black Shadow that would be pretty lame don't ya think?Brian Douglas said:

I do not know what book you are reading but best hit the books...I know for a fact Thruxton was released in the late 50's here's a link of a 62' I don't have time to prove a point to you but I am most assured that Velo was way before Triumph as far as the Thruxton name was...Cheers..Brian Douglas said:
