i got this wheel in a package deal with a vintage 70's springer front end i bought. what you will notice that it has a very unique hub. unfortunatly i didnt get an axle with this wheel. i am looking to everyone here to find out something about this wheel. i work in the motorcycle field and have tapped my resources with all the gurus that i know and no one has even seen such a thing let alone know anything about it. if thats not enough in the middle of the hub is a spring but both sides of the hex move in unison. thanks to any input anyone has.

The spacer that goes inbetween is octagon on the outside and a round hole in the middle for the axle. The bronze bushings in the middle are the brake shoes which are tapered. You are missing the brake actuating arms that when the cable is pulled pushes the bronze cones into the hub. It's pain in the ass to set up. Mine still isn't right
wow never guessed its a brake. very interesting thanks for sharing that. any idea who made these or when? im sure the chances of finding the rest of the pieces are slim i guess it will have to be a conversation piece.
Choppa stoppa. There's been a couple threads on em.

Stop-a Chopper hub, as Ryan says. You are missing a few pieces. You can find the hubs, but I think it would be pretty hard to find replacement parts. It's probably not worth much as it is.

Nice Ink!!! BSA Bantom?
Thanks on the ink. The word there appears to be JONES.

Well, I'll be doggone!!
I guess I missed this thread first time around. Just so happens that I've got the elusive parts in my stash. Me and the hub parted company long ago, but I still have both levers and the hollow hex shaft as shown in the bottom pic.
