I started throwing around the idea of making a remote master cylinder for my front brakes that will mount int the tunnel of my sporty tank. It's mounted high so there is enuff room. I've got a couple options on hand including cutting up the stock one but I wanted to see what other ideas are out there. I've seen mini master cylinders used for gocarts and such, what are you guys using?? PLease post pics of what you've done!!

You're insane! I understand you're not knocking his parts but come on. I've got it mounted underneath my frame backbone and between my split tanks. It is the cylinder and mount and that's it. I don't see how it could be any smaller and still function well enough that I'd trust it to work. Kevin's stuff is tip top.

i went back and took another look at Kevin's remote. It looks top notch for sure.it just looks a little on the tall side to put in my tunnel.I'd have to get measurements, make a template to see if it fits.I'm sure it's worth every penny too, just not in MY budget at the moment.I haven't purchased anything from him,but did ALOT of looking at his stuff the past few years.

When I was looking around for this setup I called him and asked for the measurements. I don't recall offhand what they were. Anyway, I then printed the picture out at 1:1 and glued it to some cardboard so I could play around with mounting locations.

Once the system is bled of air, it's a closed hydraulic system and you can orient them as you see fit. I think on a stock FL the rear m/c is lower than the slave.

Ooops, you mean "reservoir" specifically. Again, once the air is out and your reservoir seal is good I think it would be fine.

Honda's used to have a "linked" system that applied both front and rear brakes with one lever.

Yep I am that is pretty small I was thinking of something else I guess. Kevins stuff is good. I know this about 2" of hose will suffice.

Cable operated just like a mechanical brake. Then you just run a brake line down to the caliper. I plan on replacing the reservior with a much smaller cup so that when finished it will be hard to even know it's there.
