Hey guys i was hoping to get some tips on installing the inner gearb
ox cover on my 72 bonny 650 heres what I did so far.

1. I set the camplate in the half way point of its travel, according to the clymer manual.

2. I lined up the gear selector quadrant's second tooth from the top with the centerline of the spindle bore for the gear selector pedal

3. installed the outer gearbox cover and tried to run through all the gears.

here is where i am unsure it is installed correctly.

I do not know the gearchange sequence, 2 down 3 up maybe?

I have the motor on the bench and the primary is not assembled yet, so im spinning the input shaft by hand while trying to run through the gears.

would i be better off trying to do this while the motor is in the frame and the rear wheel is installed, so i can feel the gear change better.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

Hope everything went ok. It's a typical 1 down 4 up thing. try to get the trans in neutral before you install the cover. Make sure you replace all the o-rings, and check the pressure plate balls, and the shifter lockouts for wear and seat.
