i am trying to run a spoked wheel on my 74 fxe and i ordered up the narrowest wheel i could find - cept it isnt the clover style. i can run the wheel but not enough width between fork tubes to run the brake. it may be clean looking and all but i like to be able to stop so i want to run one. my bud had a 81 shovel narrow glide and the rim stock hub was wider and for dual brakes but it was a 19in rim. did something change from 74 to 81? just curious.

if anyone has a nice 21 in wheel with the clover style hub lt me know.

By "clover" do you mean '74-''77 style. They take the 12" rotor and will not fit a '77 '83 dual disc style because of the caliper mounts. That's the only thing I can think of that's sounding like your deal. I know a '77-'83 hub will actually fit into any '77-up fork with some spacing, but the rotors have different register sizes.

If you tried to put a '74-'77 hub in a '77-'83 fork it would prevent the rotor from fitting for sure, BUT you could cut the caliper mounts off and custom mount a caliper to the fork mounts.
