Some connection between crankcase and transmission is a good idea. Otherwise it might happen that the transmisson is beeing pulled out of the line by the belt. Primo offers a motor plate called "Equilizer". Check out the link: http://www.riveraengineering.com/html/cat-p-pdf.php?fn=50.pdf
