what's going on then? the first bike has a black frame, then there's a blue frame? blue bike, blue tank?

can you explain a bit what's goin on?
Mmm, we've got black frame, blue frame, blue frame, black frame. How many bikes are you building??

the headlamps on the enduro/super moto/dirt bike are hilarious... look like 2 massive boobs! lol

What is it?
To awnser a couple questions:

Black Bike = 1980 FXEF
Blue Bike (both "blue"" frame pics are the same bike) = Roller I had for various parts
"Boob light" bike= XR650R

The only thing Im sure of at the momment as that when next summer comes around, I will be riding a Shovel of my own making.

The challenge= Making a swingarm bike look right!
I really like that blue in the second picture. Hell, I like the whole setup in the second picture!
The blue frame, might be where I go as far as frame......but as far as cool swing arms go....its going to be a "bitch" friendly bike....so it makes it a bit more challenging. Might have to make myself a Crazy Frank fender.

I really like the blue in the third picture, it really shouts at me!

word...will do, as I feel its a lot harder, then "hardtailin" it, which I think makes it a interesting build as there are not a lot of us "swingers" around here!
I have 2 destined thoughts:

<O:p1) Crazy Frank Fender, with nose up, long forks, old school, forward controls, Juice Rear, rabbit ear type bars, huge king and queen.
2) Low and Fast, dropped down rear and front, 21 up front, with more aggressive skinny'r bars, level looking, kind of like a Denver without the rake. Mid controls, disc everywhere, low style king queen.
<O:p</O:p

We'll see how it all pans out, either way I'm going with my "Faberge Egg" tank! And making it a double seater!<O:p</O:p

I like your option #2 better!
Im more comfortable that way as well, while I like the chopper ride, I like to give it some snoose and feel like I can still control it! The tuff part of #2 for me will be trying to make it rider friendly and still maintane the sleek fast look. the women has been hatin on most of my bikes as they are built for one, so I wanted to get her a spot on it.

here is one of the seats Im trying to get to work with the #2 option (minding that I'm going with that superglide badass tank)

its a bit lower and doesnt have a huge back

sinks,
Your build, your tast, etc but, ya might wanna take a look at the cool swing arm bikes thread, some very nice looking builds there. Also, a fl front fender turned around and mounted right on fenderstruts......

For sure... i think i overloaded my HD with pics from the cool swing-arm bikes thread! I am doing a similar project 1980 FXE shovel was going to wait till winter but got wrench happy.

Yeah, lots of great bikes in there....lot of them are single seaters or stock....I guess om going to try to make something a bit "original" HA....like anything is original with these f'rs

Hopefully I will get some help from some friends along the way, as this is my FIRST complete rebuild, as im going to be going through the tranny and top end and probably have to split the case and get that shored up as well. its a bit intimidating! but I figure if I never try I will never learn.

well had a couple hours before the football game: teardown
