Saw this at the Thunder Over Michigan Airshow this weekend.

Since there are some reenactors on the board, yeah, it was a kick ass weekend...

I live hot rods, motorcycles and aircraft, and lately elements of each are cropping up into the other two's territory...

Ya know...I've really gotta get off my ass ans scan some of the cool old pictures I've got.

My grandfather was an MP in Panama during World War II & drove an Indian on duty.
You can just tell by his look in the pictures he really dug it although he never rode again after the service.

My other grandfather's brother (if you can follow that one....my mom's uncle) was a scout during the same war and apparently was assigned to riding an HD through the woods in the dark.
I gotta get those damn pics scanned....

There is a fellow reenactor out of Ft. Bragg NC that I used to talk to quite a bit that has a Motorcycle MP impression that is really cool. He has a HUGE page of wartime military MP pics and some even better motorcycle MP pics....

Here is his bike and his impression.

Edit..Woah that pic is big. I will just post the link then.

Tell me some GI didn't come out of the war, buy one of those bikes for a song, and bob it.

Why someone hasn't done this recently, I'll never understand. Heck, you could even put it all back if you were careful and patient.

Oh, of course they did. That was probably the first exposure to a motorcycle that big. They loved them. The problem now is WLAs are too valuable to bob. I would have a hard time doing it. The WLH (civilian model) wouldn't hurt my feelings.
