Not sure where I saw a write up, maybe here but I can't find it.

A guy built a cafe seat out of a hard, sandable foam form and over laid fiberglass.

Anyone have a link or know what kind of foam is used for a project like this?

Thanks...

Excellent!

I thought about styrofoam but worried about it dissolving. Cool to see this guy is getting around that.

Thanks for the link.

Not a problem. If you read close they talk about bulking up the insides to make it more rigid or strong. I'm sure you will have to do this so your body weight wont break it to pieces. That or build a support system inside. Not real sure.

Hope it works out for you. Make sure you take pics of the deal and do a tech article for us! :D

Yeah, it'll have to strong. I'll also need to secure to the original seat pan and plan to incorporate a tail light into the rear section.

I'm in the planning stages now and hope to start on it in a couple months. I need to get the bike mocked up first.

Tech article will be forthcoming.
