It's hard to label bikes, I realize, so I won't try and I'd prefer that we not degenerate into a "what's a bobber" arguement. I'm looking for a magazine that runs a lot of features on bikes like the one I'm attaching. Not necessarily brand specific, just that style. I've picked up a few issues of IronWorks and they've featured some cool stuff but I feel like I'm reading Hot Rod when what I really want is Rod and Custom is there anything out there like that?

I like The Horse Magazine. Even though I don't like thier other car publications, I like The Horse. They feature bikes of all different makes, many home-built, driven bikes.

I like DicE they've got alot of bobbers and frisco style bikes, Its an expensive little book, but I would rather a little book where I liked everything than a big mag where I liked a third of the stuff, My .02

I have hundreds of car and bike magazines and all they do is get in the way when move. I ditched all my car and bike magazine subscriptions for this place and the HAMB. This is a direct link to the people that build and ride these bikes. Magazines are nice for the pretty pictures, but most of the writing is terrible. Most of the pics here are amateur, but I decided the blurry photos are a decent trade for real information, help and ideas.

This is probably not the suggestion you were hoping for, but you might just pick a magazine stand you like and browse hard and only buy specific issues with bikes you really like, rather than cluttering your life with hundreds of magazines you can't bring yourself to throw out.

I just cant find a good mag that covers the newest fad "the Fredder":D

I am hoping they come out with the Fredder Monthly maybe with a little coverage of the the Ralpher Bikes:D

I think Caffine could be the managing editor of the Ralpher mag they say he is the upmost authority in the east on this style bike.

Shoe:p

PS: build it and they will come and then your favorite mag will be the one that has a pic of your bike in it.

I've never read DicE, but it sounds pretty good. But I'd say you'd definitly like The Horse. And I would certainly agree, this site, along with The Horse's site, and the HAMB are the best link o the real deal guys ( and gals ) in this culture.

And I have always had a problem throwing out magazines, but I finally gave most of them to my buddy. I kept the ones I read the most, but he took several hundred with him, and I am throwing some away. It's a hard thing, but I know that if he ever decides to get rid of them, I'll get 'em back.

I'm not saying I think it's to much, but I suggested that some people might. The asker of the question cited Rod and Custom which is big and cheap.I said I would rather pay more money for a smaller mag when 100% of the content appeals to me.

At least thats what I meant to say.

I actually forgot about DICe, its a decent little mag although you won't see it on a lot of news stands. There is one place that stocks all the indies near me, but those places aren't everywhere. One thing about DICe that kinda bugs me, is that the writing is usually more about drinking than details about the bike. but, the pictures are usually very good. Over all a great pocket sized mag. Issue #7 already?

Man, you are right about the text, the trouble is Dean and I are not journalists 'cos if I was I would be working for Hustler or Martha Stewart or something........I tell you what, that gives me an idea for a new mag combining porn and a wanabie middleclass lifestyle.....yes, we could call it.....Marstler...mmmmmm, don't forget you heard it here first kids!.

The trouble is we like bikes AND drinking but it is a fair comment. Send!!

No, but you should probably forward me a lecture (see my sickness below).

I want to back-pedal a little bit. Quarterlys might be worth it, since they take the time to put out a decent mag rather than churning out a monthly to keep up ad revenue. I worked at a "monthly" magazine for 2 years that only put out 7 issues. It went broke, but they were great articles, since we spent so long on them. When I pulled mags out for the pic I realized that Gearhead is one of the best mags I have and it is great because they come out so infrequently, they have to be good.
