Are the fittings on the lucas brakes standard? I mean can I just go to pepboys or the like and pick up the fittings to make new lines?

Go to a good speed shop. Take the Lockheed (not Lucas) caliper with you. They'll probably have the fittings in stock. Sorry, I don't know what the thread is off-hand, but it's not Whitworth. I walked in to a shop that caters to dirt track sprint cars and they made a braided SS brake line for my Commando in just a few minutes.
