I know that there are quite a few bros from the Austin area on here so I am hoping you can help me out. I am trying to find a new ride for the summer. I am looking for something pre 70's with a Harley motor. I made the horrible mistake of stopping by the Central Texas Harley dealer on Sat. There was a sea of new bikes and I was bombarded with sales dudes trying to sell me the "latest and greatest". When I told them what I was looking for this one dude was very confused as to why I would want something that old. Anyway, I asked if he new anyone in town that would have some bikes of this vintage and he mentioned Buds Cycle shop. Any one ever been? I drove by it, it was closed so I am gonna check it out on Tues.

I am looking at spending $6000-$7000 on whatever it is I buy. Any help any one could give would be appreciated.

They have some cool shit in the back, last time I was there they had a shovel for 7K.
Bud's is a cool place. As to what they have , I don't know. That's definently the place to go and ask anyway.
Buds is cool as shit...i want that blue pan in there so bad.

That blue Pan Hardtail? That thing is sweet.

The guys at Buds are pretty cool. And a lot of them are some real old school bikers.
no point in going to the dealership if you're looking for an old bike. Bud's has alot of stuff. you can ride that blue panhead out of there for 10 grand. it's a consignment and it's been there for at least 2 years. there was a black shovel with girder for about $7500 i think. you might check that out. just for fun, go in the back and plow through the tons of old parts. alot of it's junk but you stumble across a gem every once in a while. check the paper, too. a couple of weeks ago a guy had a few old bikes for cheap. they went fast. good luck, dave
Call and talk to Marty at Flyrite. There is a guy that wants to sell his Flyrite rolling chassis with 1980 Shovel for 4500 bucks.

I found my '66 in the paper! Total barn find it was in Dripping Springs, watch the paper, craigslist and check out Barnett in E.P. from time to time they have older bikes in the mechanic specials section...

EvelDave,

Hey Dave!

Mr. Horton put me up to razzing you about SXSW, it would have been cool to see you play with the Brothers, but I'm sure I'll get my chance.

Bobby is my boss and if he says mess you I got no choice.

Yeah man, I got to see this pan of yours.

Frank in Austin.
